Anyway, aside from her thinking of Arthur as “The Devil”, Jay doesn’t seem like the kind of personality who would like to work for government—she wouldn’t like the discipline required.

Also, Cat isn’t trying to capture/defeat them—she WANTS to frighten them into running away. She’s not going to try to prevent him from fleeing.

This hits home, right in the middle of my old stomping grounds. It happened around the area of 400 E 6th St., which is the entertainment district of Austin. Someone probably got drunk, got mad, and started shooting.
If no one's going to curb guns, then implement the plan I heard about elsewhere: make gun owners take out liability insurance, just like car owners have to. If their gun is used to harm a person or property, they can have a claim filed against them. Paying for insurance might make people think twice about buying a gun, if you can get the law passed and if you can enforce it.

Dust bunny chasing done, Explorer that Cat takes a break, oddly not on the break box this morning.

Just ordered a 2 pack of batteries that comes with a charger that supports plug in the wall as well as USB and car power plug charging.  I'll have 3 batteries so I shouldn't miss much...

After a brief bout of house running, Explorer the Cat has decided on a course of action that involves sitting around on the book case and not really taking any actions.  Such is the life of a cat.

"I'll sharpen my claws on my favorite book this morning.  While I get in the way of The Human and his cup of tea.  Boring stuff tea" - Explorer the Cat

"The Human half assed organized the table.  Gives me another box to sit on.  I approve of this" - Explorer the Cat

I guess results of this may influence how many people would insist to be classified as part of human species.
With the "mostly", it can still work , but ok, deceptive marketing is negative force.
Sure marketing is source of information and if it somehow could be completely removed (which would be naive to think can happen) it would be frustrating. But marketing is not property of product ; if you select product based on it's marketing, it means you ignored how good the product itself is - and there are lot of examples where the product with better marketing is objectively worse.

Alone, lot of traits cats got recently would be disadvantage. But cat got big advantage due to symbiotic relationship with humans, and now it turns nearly parasitic as the original stuff we needed cats for (protecting our grain storages from rodents) is rarely needed now. From evolution standpoint, best cat is one which is cuddly enough to always get food from humans, but is careful not to end up owned, as that can reduce number of her offspring.

I came home from D&D plus shopping and found Explorer the Cat in bed.  She followed me around while I put up my shopping and put my laptop back on it's desk.  Once I got changed into my bed clothes and got in bed she climbed right up next to me and started purring.  

Seem like Explorer the Cat has forgiven me for stopping making the red dot as she has spent the last few hours hanging out at my side.  I'm so glad I adopted her.

A little something Mrs. Prof typed up about our current foster cat:
 

Mrs. Prof's foster cat project in the sewing room is coming along nicely. With Mrs. Prof out taking care of TNR trapping tonight, I'm home with only cats for company, so I thought I'd go in and pay Crystal (the foster cat) a visit - my first solo visit to her.
To my surprise, she did not freak out and run off to hide. She was on a platform of a cat tree, and all she did was look up at me as I walked toward her. When I reached her, I easily began petting her. She leaned into it and, for lack of a better phrase, started enjoying the hell out of it. I gave her pets and scratches and rubs for a solid 10 minutes. She ate it all up. The only thing she wasn't a fan of was tummy rubs, so I took that off the buffet line rather quickly.
She was willing to go for more beyond the 10 minutes I was in there, but my back was having no more of it. Fortunately, she didn't complain when I left. She just sort of rolled and purred.
Interesting encounter.
