So a friend of my Mom's found a stray kitten but couldn't take him in because someone in the house is allergic. We offered to foster him until we could find him a home, keeping in mind that I wouldn't mind our home being his home. But when my brother came home and saw the kitten, he basically called dibs. So... Meet Midnight. (also official Zorua fingers reveal) We think he's about a month to five weeks old and possibly self-weaned. We need to get him a bright reflective kitten harness because his fur is basically pitch black and blends in with the darkness. We also probably need to take him to the vet soon-ish. He is currently sprawled out on my lap as I type this. (discarded name suggestions: Chat Noir, Adrien, Bagheera, Ghira, Grue, Brian)

One of the more frustrating aspects of this story is keeping track of just how much the people who aren't supposed to know certain things actually know Unlike the real stories of politics and business management where you know well in advance that the people who need to be competent and well informed actually know nothing (University politics is probably the best illustration of how well educated geniuses can become complete fools) And this is the twentieth anniversary of EGS? Another 20 years and our crew will finish Freshman Orientation at the University and will be about half way through the Registration line (Admittedly, I finished registration in less than a decade. But I went to a very small school)

Got another toy for the new Music Computer: a USB MIDI Breath Controller. 'Twill help me write more realistic brass and woodwind parts. Got it with some of the funds that have accumulated since the computer was put together. A big chunk of that was shipping, since they're using "couriers" (their description) to send out the product. The upside is that I should probably receive it next week, even though it's coming from Sweden.
