There just needs to be some money or power involved (really the same thing. Money is simply power that is freely convertible to other forms), as anyone who has been in a fanclub or lived under a homeowner's association can tell you. If Zaphod Bebblebrox did not exist we would have to create him. Really the matter of who we replace a bad leader with is the same problem as who get/allow to lead in the first place. If you don't have good options for replacement, fix the part of the system that spits out the leader options in the first place. Otherwise garbage-in/garbage-out is all you can reasonably expect. -

That's a comforting thought, but I don't personally think so. Any significant technological imbalance would have brought out the arrogance in europeans that 1000 years of cross-continent aggression bred into them. If the Americas had proven impossible to invade and conquer given 15th and 16th century technology, only then would the people there earn the respect of europeans.

Humans are simply too social for Solaria to be a viable future, IMHO. Too many people are always trying to be at the top. This is nothing new. That's just the normal human instinct to establish a pecking order combined with wanting the the most toys. OTOH, Have you seen what happens to a group when nobody wants to lead? It ain't pretty. I don't remember if it's a Larry Niven observation on writer's collaborations or one of Niven's Laws for Writers. "Someone has to be the dictator". A Republic is a way to have the dictators and get rid of them when needed. Naturally the dictators will try to wire the system to keep that from happening, which is where but the US, Europe and related states are right now. Democracies and Republics work best when the powerful are subject to being removed from power. -

That's be a total mess, they'd break into at least two political parties...It would be the end of the world. -

No you mean Angus McGonagoh, the argyle gargoyle who gargles Gershwin...

Assuming you knew *how* they fit together... It's trial and error combined with the fact that some pieces explode when they touch.

But if you used Iguana intestines... ...you still wouldn't have gotten anywhere.

She'd have to hold some kind of constant factor in her mind: "Grow 200%" across the board or something like that. But how fast can she spam her spell?

Big time....

Can immortals even grant spells to Awakened mages?

Rhoda might be able to grow her clothes. She's not skilled enough to grow them while growing herself, but growing them just by themselves should be easier to do.
-
I think Pandora is still in "Mommy will fix everything" mode. I don't think she's even considered asking her son for help.
-
Nor has Diane been that subtle defending Rhoda.

Anti-gravity or something, yes. You'd expect, say, Power Girl to be unnaturally perky. Kryptonian invulnerability means the weight of her considerable bust is still trivial for purposes of stretching her skin or pulling her spine out of alignment. Keep her under red-sun radiation for even a few hours and she'll start to ache in a number of places. Wonder Woman is in this same class. Other characters such as the many versions of Phoenix, Sue Richards or the Scarlet Witch may have powers to help support themselves. ...which just leaves everybody else. The trend among contemporary comics artists is to draw less-extreme figures than in past decades too. I've never seen Sarah as a "Tomboy". Not in the sense of having a larger bust in private than she should possibly be able to conceal in public. Baseline Sarah has been pretty constant for years. I've seen some extreme cases of concealment, however. A girl I once knew, who looked a DD bust in normal clothes crafted a renn-faire anti-bustier for herself that made her look flat as a board. I never actually asked her what her bust size was...it seemed--and still seems--rude and impertinent unless it's someone I know really well.
