Huh. Okay, well since Susan isn't there, it will have to be Van that makes the suggestion. I wonder if Wizards will continue getting spells of their own, while other magic users will have to be content to learn magic from spellbooks others let them reference? Hmmm...

Side note, I'm not going to be around here much for the next few months; I'm taking 16 credits on top of working full time, and the two core classes (which I need to take so I can declare my major), which should be easy, involve a lot of reading. I'll pop by every now and then to comment on the comic itself (as I am right now), but I'm most likely not going to respond to being quoted unless I have a rare completely free day.

Once Tedd adds the FV5 beam to the wand, she's going to need to test it, to demonstrate how multiple spells in one wand works, right? So I wonder who is getting zapped, herself or Pandora?
I think it's likely a little of both. He gets the drive to help people from his father, but due to him being half-immortal, he can't act directly in most situations, so he instead seeks others to train to act in his stead.

My speculation is he thinks its a more portable version of the TFG, or related to it in some way. Magic that isn't magic. Which is kinda what Elliot's magic started as--he was zapped by the TFG. I'm not even sure Edward thinks Tedd has done anything that isn't basically a variation on the TFG; I'd like to think he would be a LOT more interested in what Tedd's doing if he knew.

Tedd's at least proved that knowing about his parents and what they expected of him, as well as Adrian's connection, wouldn't make him explode. Sure he still doesn't know all the nitty gritty of what happened to cause his parents to divorce but I doubt Pandora lied about it, the whole "they wanted you to be able to defend yourself" is likely true but Noriko probably also wanted Tedd as an apprentice and Pandora might have knowingly omitted that tidbit. Still I think the biggest piece of info that had any chance of having a negative affect on Tedd might have been the knowledge that his resistance to the wand might have been the wedge that drove his parents apart. And yet instead, he joked about how they must have been disappointed in him. So I think if Voltaire has any chance of succeeding, he might have to rely one someone close to Tedd being killed.

That possibly too (it's not in conflict).
This was nicely described in Pratchett's books: the difference between scientists and philosopher is that philosopher is unhappy when he finds something suggesting his teacher was wrong. The scientist would give a hand for proof that some authority is wrong.
This explanation is true and totally logical and still fails to make it less embarrassing.
She didn't need to HEAR it. She correctly predicted Tedd would want to help transgender people IN OCTOBER, months before Tedd found what transgender is.
That's nice theory, except 1) she remembered the years just fine for first 200 years 2) you need to remember just ONE event to recompute your age anytime later, and even if she mostly hanged around regular folks she would notice something historically significant at least ONCE.
For one, it would be VERY hard to miss fall of Roman Empire, yes. Or discovery of New World.
He MIGHT also be too tired - or most likely, little of each.

Here's an interesting thought, what if Pandora's whole "Egg and Hawk" routine nearly 3 years ago was an attempt to get Edward talking to Adrian again? Even if Edward didn't know that she is Adrian's mother, if Adrian was the one that taught Edward about Immortals, she might have hoped he'd go to Adrian for help, get talking, and maybe reconcile things, but so far it hasn't worked out like that and with Pandora's desire to not predict the outcomes, she would have been just recklessly doing things without realizing (until now) that she's only been making things worse.
Though I'm thinking that probably by the end of this arc, Edward will be talking to Adrian again, whether he forgives Adrian or it ends the same way that Justin and Melissa ended is to be determined.

Just because it will be less violent it's not better idea. If you do change like that, it makes you sort of responsible if it turns out badly ... DO Tedd wants this kind of responsibility? Maybe for one other Tedd, just for experimenting, but doing it on mass scale?
That would be pretty hard to do, appearing between Edward and trying to explain something like this He would likely be more interested in who you are. I mean who Tedd is.
Not without first observing how exactly it happened. Lot of work with lot of potential for emotionally hard scenes ...
Hmmm ... messing with the detector might be most compatible with what Tedd actually CAN do and while it doesn't guarantee Noriko will stay it has quite good chance. Presumably, non-seer wand makers are registered by wand ; he should be able to modify the detector to fake-report him being normal wand maker, which might not be exactly what Noriko expected but much easier to accept for her.

Marry - or sue him for sexual harassment and get the money that way. Or, she planed to say she have child with him, no matter if true or not. But in any case, I doubt anyone would be surprised if she got the money, so yes, good host.
(I suppose even the marriage is an occupation hazard for woman who try to sue for sexual harassment.)
    True.
That's not what he has been told. The power to bend worlds to his will doesn't necessary mean ability to change history (also, specifically said to be impossible in EGS, as Scotty reminded). That said, the speculations are funny so I would comment:
Would be funny if Tedd met Elliot in ASMA dojo because Noriko would pressure him to do some martial arts.
ESPECIALLY likely if Noriko would realize ASMA dojo works.
Tedd would be unlikely to be good in it anyway, but it would be another group activity ...
Remember it will be TEDD doing the changes. He would certainly make sure there will be some other reason why he would end up with TF gun - he might overlook some things but he would definitely pay attention to this one. Especially considering TF gun was reason why he started researching magic which lead to him finding out being Seer.
Convincing his father would likely be harder, but on the other hand, maybe non-shy Tedd would be better at convincing. He might however be stabler and not experiment on friends so much, or at least test it first.
Alternatively, it might be NORIKO who would totally support Tedd getting TF gun as way to give him some way to compensate for his lack of magic abilities.
First, why should it happened with different outcome? Second, again, Tedd would pay attention to Grace. Third, Grace might have other reason to end up with Mr. Verres. But it would be truly interesting what would Noriko's opinion on her son practically marrying alien shapeshifter be. Would she welcome shapeshifter in family or would she worry about her grandchildren having harder access to magic? Would it MATTER to her with Tedd not having magic according to tests?
... would Noriko have other child meanwhile?
Main reason for Ellen is Magus. I already mentioned that TF gun would likely stay. It would be more work for Magus to convince stabler Tedd, also with Noriko in picture it's less likely Tedd would be alone home to have opportunity to go for DD ... unless, of course, Noriko even when technically home would be out of work even more often than Edward, which is quite likely, so ...
I think he WOULD adopt Noah BUT he would make sure Noah and Tedd know each other. In fact, without Noriko leaving, Adrian would take an active role in forming and training main eight equivalent.
Wait. Maybe Grace would still arrive at Edward's house but it would be NOAH she would start dating.
Or, alternatively, she would find and kill Damien AFTER his attack but long before the story, recovering Grace and her siblings. Which could ALSO end up with Grace being Tedd's adopted sister - especially if Tedd would pay attention to Grace when changing reality but forgot about Westermarck. The probability of Grace dating Noah RISES.
Also, better relationship with Sarah and less shy Tedd in general might mean Tedd will be dating SARAH.
And you forget that IF Mrs. Kitsune opinion on Noriko was result of her abandoning family, they might be still on speaking terms and Nanase and Tedd would be closer.
I think he does have magic ; however, I think he has considerably less magic than Edward, possibly not being wizard, which leaves the factors in behaviour you spoke about.
I already said that his reason for not liking Adrian Raven might be that he is jealous he didn't had so good teacher when young ; especially if he blames his teaching and not his lack of talent/affinity for his limited magic.

I've already speculated that the real Arthur might be dead and Voltaire has been impersonating him. But Voltaire would have to spend a large part of his time being Arthur, so unless he can be in two places at once, it doesn't seem to be the most likely possibility.
Cahoots is more possible. But if Arthur knows even half as much about Immortals as Edward does, he should know that the games they play with humans are all about manipulating them.
We really haven't been given a lot of knowledge about Arthur J. Arthur. We don't even know if he has any magic; you don't have to be a wizard to dress up in a pointy hat, a robe, and carry a big staff with a jewel or a big piece of colored glass. The one thing we know he taught Edward was how to cover up magic and alien encounters. Being replaced by a younger who actually does have magic could be another factor in Arthur's behavior now, over and above Edward being a protege of Adrian Raven, someone we definitely know Arthur J. Arthur does not like.

The continuing development of Pandora's character is really becoming my favorite thing in EGS.  The constant struggle with the self she's come untethered from over centuries of manic isolation, her various aspects dividing and combining with increasingly less control.  Very nice.

Personally, at this poiont I'm mainly hoping that Raven isn't a cheater. I mean, I can see the scenario - wife gets pregnant, but he can't have children, so she cheated but denies doing so, he decides he has leave to cheat a bit himself, you know? Definitely doesn't strike me as being a WISE thing to do, though. Also, given how it's been established that he hates being lied to (blowing up in the principal's office), I don't see him wanting to live that kind of lie. Not to mention the whole betrayal and breaking of vows thing (marriage, in this case).
I'd be much more agreeable with the situation if Pandora was talking about some long-ago children, or Susan's dad or something like that. Maybe a one-night stand type of situation with Susan's mom? Ooh! She could get pregnant with twins, not be sure who the father is/not have Raven's contact information to chew him out for getting her pregnant when he said he couldn't, her parents make her give up one for adoption, she meets her husband, he eventually cheats... Hmm...
Anyway, I really don't see Raven as someone who is willing to be a cheating cheater who cheats, whether cheating on a his wife or with a friend's wife. :/ Sure, he's familiar with betrayals of trust, but I'd rather it be long-ago wives who (potentially) cheated on him to have children, not his being an adulterer.

Tense issue: that should be "met," not "meet."
That aside, I rather agree with you; I'd much prefer her father being someone we've never seen "on screen," so to speak. It would put paid to the potential bad taste of the cheating father being a favorite chracter. *nods*
And I know multiple people have pointed out that Wolf looks too young, but I personally view people who cheat as immature, so taken with grain of salt.

I'm not inclined to think its a case of "may not" - Adrian Raven strikes me as someone who tends to be rather precise with his speech; he'd have to be, to keep Pandora from playing around with double meanings/homophones, and we know she would, if only for amusement. If Adrain said half immortals "can not" than that's precisely what he means - they lack the ability to do so.

Everyone saw this coming, but that doesn't make it any less exciting. So we'll get to see both Susan and Diane and Magus and Sirleck in this chapter? Nice.
Uh, why do you assume Elliot wouldn't change back long before Magus could make him touch the DD? Surely Ellen would zap Elliot back as soon as Magus stopped amplifying her emotions and then she would have no idea why she zapped him in the first place. Also, I have a feeling that it wouldn't matter if Elliot were transformed while touching the Diamond under Magus's control. I bet the Diamond would think that separating the mind controlling Elliot's body from him is more important than creating another sister for him. And even if I'm wrong, then surely Magus is smart enough to force Elliot to stay in his default form while touching the Diamond.
Well, we have no real proof that Voltaire is being manipulated by Pandora. He is clearly working against her, and even though Pandora probably could find a way to somehow make him work to her advantage, we don't even know if she's aware of Voltaire yet.

    Certainly looks possible.
And while we're at it, I'm not certain we should bury the theory of Susan and Diane being related to Adrian just yet. Young Pandora bears a pretty strong resemblance to them. So being Adrian's half-sisters could be possible and still explain the Susan-like illusion Adrian put on Grace. Pandora could have used magic to suppress the elven nature of Susan and Diane so that even other immortals couldn't detect it. She was disappointed that Adrian couldn't act to his full abilities growing up, so made sure that Susan and Diane didn't receive those restrictions.
