One would figure though that with Elliot showing off his transformation abilities, and then all the crazy stuff that happened after, Ashley would have accidentally used the spell. It's too bad Tara apparently didn't look at Ashley's when she was telling everone of Elliot's, Ellen's, Nanase's, and Diane's magic potential. She would have noticed if Ashley had form of magic, heck, she should have looked for any potential in Ashley immediately after getting soccer balled to the face.

You're all missing the obvious point: Kirk's original Enterprise wasn't really powered by antimatter. It was powered by sacrificing redshirts. Why do you think it needed a crew of 400 when it was clear nobody was really needed except Scotty, Bones, Nurse Chapel, and the bridge crew?

Ok, maybe I should have filed that part under "Wild Theories", but Pandora's had all week (comic time) to observe Ashley's and Elliot's fateful meeting, plus I did say that Pandora could have been aware of the relationship issues Sarah and Elliot were having, Sarah had made at least Grace and Susan aware of them way back in April, and then brought it up again with Grace in June.
A lot of people also thought Ashley was Pandora.

The "fungus/microbes that tend to consume refined sulfur that isn't sterilized and hermetically sealed" version from D&D is probably the most plausible way of making gunpowder not work, which means that the adoption of explosives would get delayed until the discovery of nitroglycerin and methods of stabilizing it (dynamite or nitrocellulose/guncotton).
Anyway, as for magic being widely available, it does appear that magical energy is a limited resource. Living beings can generate internal energy to a point, but any "industrial" type uses would have to draw on environmental energy--and there may be minerals or something that contain a relative concentration of magical energy that could thus be consumed like coal. Universal use of magic thus seems likely to deplete the world's magical energy supply. At best such a situation would lead to a limited availability of non-personal magical energy and a forced rollback of industrial usage. In a more dystopian situation, people or animals capable of generating enough energy to be useful but not enough to be powerful combatants may be enslaved as energy sources. Even worse, environmental magical energy might turn out to be vital for life (think of Mako/Lifestream depletion in various locations due to Shinra's activities in Final Fantasy VII).

If the world is rich enough, it effectively becomes a character - or even several characters - that OCs can interact with.
And fanfic can also feed on fanfic.

No, no one has, something Arthur J. Arthur didn't seem to consider when he said "police have guns." Griffin flying through the mall firing energy blasts? Call in a "code spooky." Giant midair explosion? Kids with fireworks. Jewelry store robbery? Let's call in a couple of meddling teenagers instead of the police.
Does Moperville even have a real police force? Maybe they spent all their money on murals or something.

I was under the impression that Noriko left Edward when Tedd was around 4 years old, Nanase is the same age as Tedd and while we don't know when they're birthdays are, the fact that Nanase hasn't compared her and Tedd to Diane and Susan, likely means they were born months apart. Nanase would have been 10 when Akiko was born which would have been 6 years after Noriko would have left.
Now I can't remember if it was actually said that Tedd was 4 when Noriko left, I'm mainly basing it on the fact that her leaving was the main cause of Tedd being withdrawn for years. Ellen referred to Noah as being "third grade Tedd awkward" meaning that Tedd would have been in that state when he was 7-8 year old, so it's possible he'd become withdrawn around that time as well, but the fact that Adrian hadn't seen Pandora for 14 years before she visited him at the hospital suggests that the event that Adrian blames himself for causing Edward and Noriko to split up likely happened 14 years ago as well which would place Tedd at roughly 4 years of age.
It makes sense really, Adrian had for years ecouraged Edward and Noriko to focus on their training and such, Noriko, knowing about her family lineage, becomes obsessed with carrying on that tradition, when Tedd apparently seems like he's incapable of doing so, Adrian attempts to steer Noriko into being a mother for Tedd rather than being master to apprentice. This comes to a head a when Tedd's 4. There's an argument over magic potential and stuff between the three of them that Pandora overhears, she slows the magic flow to the other half of the world in order to bump up the ambient energy around moperville in the hopes that it would give Tedd an advantage.

More we are seeing of Pandora more I think she might actually have the right idea overall.  Sure she is utterly unstable and responsible for some terrible things, so many things could go wrong with the plan, but can't say I disagree with the idea.

    This is unfortunate.
Pandora and Tedd have valid points.  The Will of Magic may have been doing things the same way for a millennium, but would it really hurt to at least consider rational arguments from opposing points of view?  After all, Magic's alternative of changing the rules for everyone seems like putting all the toys on the top shelf and then letting the toddlers try to get them back on their own.
But that is probably just wishful thinking.
I am fairly confident that this Emissary of "The Will of Magic" does not have the knowledge or authority to actually speak and negotiate on behalf of "The Will of Magic", beyond delivering an occasional message.

Probably not, it's likely that they were reset in France just shortly after giving Nanase and Susan magic and guiding them to the vampire. The fragmented memories they had because of it probably had them confused enough that they figured that because they were in France at the time, that they must be french. It probably took them a bit to figure out they needed to get back to the US and find Elliot.

Yes, but magic likes drama. If she retired from monster hunting and had kids, it's possible that she has experienced no moments dramatic enough to bring her magic back.
Would it not make an excellent story line on EGS: something menaces the Kitsunes, there is a thrum of doom, and Mrs. Kitsune's magic comes back in the nick of time?

I'm pretty sure Noah has "prehensile tendrils" coming out the back of his head and wears a long girls hair style to disguise them.  He reminds me of the drummer boy from Ellen's other memories.  He sought revenge against Damien for the death of his parents which makes me suspect they worked in the lab where Damien was created, and Damien was created in the image of a prophecy mostly believed by chimeras.  I'm pretty confident he's the child of chimeras and that Damien missed him (a child left behind).

    two possible ways:
    1) she thought that it would endanger Tedd if she stuck around- let's face it, there's been one of her opponents that tried to attack Nanase despite her not being around, it's possible others would have attacked. Even if she was wrong, it makes it less jerkish.
    2) it's done as something of a redemption plot, with her realising she shouldn't have left them behind, and trying to correct her mistake. ( by correct her mistake, I don't mean some massive gesture to show she's sorry- EGS is not a sitcom- but more along the lines of actually being there from now on.) That way, it's acknowledged that she was a jerk, but no longer is.

Frankly, I agree with you that Edward and Noriko don't need to reconcile, but in a sense, it's be good if either they do, or Edward finds someone else. The guy's been through a lot, and I think it's a little unfair he has to deal with it on his own. (that, and in some ways, I could see Edward finding Noriko having to deal with some of the shenanigans the EGS crew get up to amusing)

oh, and one more thing- I don't think she is necessarily totally committed to her work as much as her commitment to her career was what drove her and Edward apart. Basically, she concentrated on training her kids that actually could learn spells in future, rather than pay attention to Tedd. yes, it's jerkish, but in a sense, unless she has a very good reason, she was something of a jerk.

I've been reading "I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle" literally since the artist released the first strip, and it took me this long to get the joke about "Lord Guano"
    Guano == Bat "droppings"
    a.k.a. - Bat shit.
    As in, "Lord Batshit"
The silent "Insane" makes his behavior make a LOT more sense.

The interesting thing is that if you can just convince an immortal that they have broken their laws, that would in and of itself make them guilty automatically. Hm.
