    Definitely.
I just wanted to say that while she can get interesting information that way, she is unlikely to get the kind of information people are generally interrogated for, like the mentioned example of "where did you hidden the body" or "where did you put the bomb".

Bratwurst and milk.   Brats on plate, milk in glass, just in case any one thinks this might be one of my weird food tests.

I'm still hoping the gang acknowledges Ellen's true "birthday" which is in 17 days comic time. I would expect that, on paper, she'd share Elliot's birthday because twins, but for the main eight, they'd have to think it'd be strange to not do something for her on the 29th of January.
Heck, I wouldn't mind finding out where everyone else's birthdays are. We just know Ellen's, Grace's, Susan's and of course Diane's.

    /me takes names.
mlooney is peckish.  And I thought to myself, 'a little fermented curd will do the trick', so, I curtailed my Walpoling activites, sallied forth, and infiltrated your place of purveyance to negotiate the vending of some cheesy comestibles!
In this case, that means I raided the fridge.

Oh lord, this happened to a friend whose lab had only one line back in 19(mumble).  Shortly thereafter, we had a salesguy in to demo a new, all-singing, all-dancing fax machine that had all kinds of interesting and useful-looking features. The one he was most proud of was the machine's ability to keep on trying until the fax went through or the Sun died.
I insisted we turn that one off.

Three quarters of a century ago, the Nazis, the Gestapo and all its odious apparatus overran my homeland Denmark. Ignoring peace treaties and all civilised decency they stripped my home of its freedom and independence, reduced it to a mere cog in their war machine, a stepping stone for its conquest of Norway. As time passed, they gradually tightened the screws, taking away all our own mechanisms of government, arresting and imprisoning our police force and eventually inflicting their merciless acts of genocide on Danish homosexuals, Gypsies, disabled, Jews -- anyone that did not meet their nightmarish ideals of Aryan perfection. My family had to flee to Sweden to survive and not everyone made it to safety. Of those that did not, few survived, none of them unmarked.
But the darkness that had fallen across Europe did not last. Eventually a restless giant stirred in its sleep, awoke, and rose to come to the rescue of the Old World. Many nations fought the evils of the Nazis. Of those, few brought as much, sacrificed as much as America did.
That war is long gone now, but I have not forgotten. I and my family directly owe our lives, home and freedom to America and her people. To the soldiers who fought so long and hard, to the working men and women in the factories, to the ordinary people who made the marvelous industry of the giant work and run when it was needed the most. To fathers and mothers and brothers and sisters who sacrificed so much, lost so many they loved. To all of America's people, whatever race or creed, for all of them paid for that war, for that freedom I now have today.
Many years have passed since then. America has changed, since. Grown, and suffered growing pains. She is not perfect and never has been, but she still struggles to improve and make herself better. And precisely this is why America is great: because she always tries to be better.
I will give the last word to my father, who feels this debt as keenly as I do. He is certain that whatever troubles America is enduring she will in the fullness of time rise above them -- because Americans are their own harshest critics, because they cannot rest while they believe injustice reigns.
It has been so for two and a half centuries. And that much, at least, has not changed.
And so, in this dark time of vitriol and partisanship and division, do not forget your roots. America IS great. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise.
I believe in you. Thank you all.

As I have said a few times, I'm not a sports person.  The fact that I say things like "the sports-ball game for tall people" as a joking example.
Turns out the Howard Tayler, the writer and artist for Schlock Mercenary, isn't one either. He's just a lot funnier about it than I am.

On a some what lighter note, I now have found a name for sirrah Trump, thanks to Howard Tayler's screamingly funny blog post "My people are not sportsball people."

mlooney wants some brie.  All I have right now is some New Zealand cheddar, which is no where near as sharp as they claim it is.

This is basically just speculation on the world of EGS rather than the story. Talking about how magic flows from one half of the world to the other, and the effect of how magic enters the world got me wondering if there would be a correlation to civilization development and areas where Magic flowed in. We know Immortals meddled with humans for ages, and quite likely played as Gods for humans to worship, but what if they couldn't do it just anywhere, that there needed to be enough ambient energy for humans to perform their "miracles".
One obvious place would be Stonehenge, ancient people worshiped pagan gods and had ceremonies there, and people even claim that the stones radiate energy.
Other places with multiple gods, ancient Egypt, the Romans, ancient Japan, China, the Aztecs, Incas and Mayans. You could probably expect that any holy sites that these civilizations had could have been an influx point where magic energy was high.

yay (tm Fluffershy)  My cable from China got here.  Damn good thing I found one in my big box of cables or I would have spent a lot of time glaring at my useless 21 vertical monitor.  Important note, when ordering from Newegg, make sure the product is shipped from Newegg.  They are fast and reliable about tracking.  Some of their suppliers, not so much.

Yeah, my first experience was with Civ II, someone had installed it on the library computers at the Highschool, so I pretty much played it for half an hour before classes in the morning and then during my lunch period, I only once accidentally missed a class because of it.

Lack of sleep, like barely 4 hours.....
Civ VI struck hard, was playing with some friends, was like "Oh I'll quit at 2am and it'll be fine, don't have to work tomorrow"
Then Brazil (my empire) got war decced by by the Aztecs, then England and then Arabia (who was friends with me up until they decided they didn't like me spreading my Bananabread religion to other cities, though they were throwing apostles all over spreading Islam).
Next thing I know, I've conquered the Aztecs (Montezuma got MY revenge) and Queen Victoria's England (She was apparently hated by EVERYONE on the map) and had both made peace with Arabia for a bit, then he declared war on me again because I just would not let Islam take hold in my cities (we are the Bananabread Republic after all!), and it was shortly after 6am....
So I tried to get some sleep, but I've stated before how hard that could be for someone that lives on a fairly heavy traffic street.
