Becoming more persuasive through drinking alcohol is really silly, I really don't understand what the devs where thinking there. As anybody knows, you tend to get less persuasive when drunk. Usually when you are trying to persuade someone through alcohol it's by getting them drunk, not yourself.
Also, isn't this the first time we seen Grace (or any of the main castmember) drinking? Granted it is only in a video game fantasy sequence, so it doesn't really count.

Just had an epiphany about Helena and Demetrius' role in this story. Way back in "In the Shadows" we see Edward, Wolf and Cranium discussing their investigation into the disturbance in the forest and getting that warning from Pandora about the "Egg", they didn't get any more information about it so Edward takes them off the case and states his intent to "enlist the assistance of some friends"  following it up with "let's just say there's a reason I know so much about Immortals".  Remember how Jerry said that Edward was a VIP in the world of the paranormal.
I've stated my belief that Helena and Demetrius have been following Elliot around because they were asked to, it's also been very strongly implied that Magus is the "Egg" that Pandora mentioned, and Magus knew that Helena and Demetrius had an improper death. I'm now thinking that Helena and Demetrius are the "friends" that Edward spoke of, they would be better suited to investigate the activity of another Immortal and if they did uncover anything important, their improper deaths might have been caused by Pandora to prevent them from reporting that back to Edward. Part of that info would have been the plan to use Elliot to get Magus back into the mortal plane but their memory only just mentions "blah blah follow blah blah Elliot blah" so they just assume that he needs to be watched but not sure why.

Oh my God yes. I still remember an infamous annual report from the Danish nuclear test station at Risoe. At the time it was led by a physicist named Dr. Hiller.
Due to incautious use of the spell checker, his name was spelled 'Hitler' throughout the entire report. I am morally certain that the poor man did not deserve that.

To be fair to her, though, we don't know when that flashback takes place, right? Andrea's been here for months, and the actual flashback could be years ago. Especially if this half of the world is a particular interest area for Andrea. If Tara is used to Andrea giving out random facts about this world, then it's easy to let it gloss over. Think about any time your S.O. has talked to you about a specific detail of their work or school major. These are topics that come up enough to make you think you've heard it all and don't really need to completely grab hold of the specifics... especially if it's in a field you understand little about and have already decided won't ever fully understand. When I talk about specific aspects of learning programming, there's no way my gf would be able to remember specific trivia about a random language construct. She doesn't know enough about the subject for the info to do her any real good, and doesn't care about it beyond it being something I like, and thus she likes it by virtue of it making me happy.
Point is that unless we learn this flashback is specifically their preparation for both of them coming over to this world, there's ample reason to not get too down on Tara for not remembering this one aspect of the world.

Am I the only person who calls out latest interfering immortal "Floating Elf Lucifer"?
Why that name?  Because he's a light-bringer, and was called a floating elf Jesus, but does not appear at-all christlike.
... that being said, he probably isn't an elf.

Trust me, they had lots of rules regarding grammar or their language just wouldn't work. The problem is that formal grammatical rules are an attempt to describe how a given language works, not actual rules for how it works -- and too many people put the cart in front of the horse and think that they are the latter.
Since language is constantly and extensively mutable, it follows that grammar must be as well. The trouble arises when people treat grammatical rules as ironclad, which they really aren't. The best metaphor I can think of is to compare grammar to a map of a language. But the 'landscape' the map depicts is one subject to constant change and prominent features keep appearing, vanishing or shifting about. And if there is conflict between map and reality, grammaticians who insist that it is reality that is wrong will all too often find themselves walking off metaphorical cliffs.

Yes, overriding a being's free will to the point where they will obey a command to commit suicide is likely one of the most heinous things that Immortals can do to non-Immortals.

Most actual transgendered persons, as opposed to false claimants, would rather forget that they have the "inappropriate" set of genitals. A MTF person is far less interested in having access to nude women than in being one of them--wanting to feel like and be seen as "one of the girls". She would not want to display or use her male parts for unwelcome sexual encounters, and would in fact prefer to pretend not to have them at all.

Unfortunately, it is close enough to true of a sufficiently large minority of men - rarely that they are compelled (and those few have a duty to recognize this flaw in themselves and avoid, not seek out, such situations), but more often that they think they are entitled to take what they see - to make it a reasonable concern. That minority is well under 1% in civilized societies, but there are far smaller dangers that large numbers of people are seriously upset over.
I suspect that genuinely transgender people are vastly UNDER-represented in that minority, but it seems to me that the assh*les who do are also more likely to be the sort to go to, say, a public gym they've never been to before (and probably will never go to again) and falsely claim to be trans in order to gain access to the women's locker room.
And if I were, say, a high-school principal, I wouldn't want a trans kid who's presenting as their gender to undress in EITHER the boys' or girls' locker room - not to protect the other kids from them, but to protect them from the other kids. (This policy would also remove any temptation for other teenagers - who are more prone to do stupid things than adults are - to falsely claim to be trans in order to get some free peeks.)

Yeah that was one of the things I mentioned in either a reaction thread or the wild theories thread back in the old forums, that hesitation has to mean he was about to say something that involved Noriko, but had to stop himself and just talk about Edward. Like "His parents are VIPs"

The Moderator: Ahem. I just realised that I did WR...S an injustice when I initially posted a remark speaking out against his post. I misread it as a rather rude criticism and now I see that it clearly was not intended so.
My apologies to both WR...S and the forum at large.

Compared to this time, I think she was only mildly annoyed. I think the last time we saw her this angry was when she was dealing with Not-Tengu.

We still do not know everything about them. But they are certainly not looking good right now. Except possibly to those who would otherwise have been victims of the vampires. What truly makes what they do problematic is that they seem to have alternatives -- other mages, the DGB, the French version of the DGB -- and for some reason they are not making use of them.

It seems like being reborn hasn't made Helena and Demetrius any less prone to enlisting innocent others in their fight against evil. Despite the good intentions, they are not very nice people, are they?

Assuming that Edward told Mama Kitsune who not-Tengu was, then we can assume that she is now aware that there are magic-users who are actively hunting her daughter. Under such circumstances, there are really only two sane responses:
1: get Nanase much MUCH better protection
or 2: ensure that Nanase becomes as strong as possible.
If Mama Kitsune is also aware that Nanase's closest friends are all magic-users, then she can accomplish both of these ends by doing whatever she can to have all of the Main Eight develop their strength. Of course, most of it would be done behind-the-scenes, since she is not yet willing to let Nanase know how much she knows about it all.

I suspect that Mrs. Kitsune won't allow Nanase to go hunting monsters fulltime before at least two degrees and child. (Or one degree and two children?)
Tedd sure have his research, but DGB would probably pay him for it.
I'm not. Or at least Edward doesn't think so highly about those teachers, as he didn't mentioned them AT ALL. Sure, it's possible that those teachers don't like to teach children, but that only shows they are not as competent.
    ... also this.
We can't be entirely sure it was Moperville high school - but yes, it does seem most likely. But remember also that Arthur Arthur tried to deport Raven to Russia, which presumably happened soon after he arrived ... and Arthur Arthur can't be THAT old.

Ever get into one of those discussions about superpowers?  "If you could either fly or turn invisible, which would you choose?"  Most of the time, when invisibility is discussed, it doesn't take very long before the idea of sneaking into locker rooms or following women home comes up.  For some men, spying on women for their own gratification is not exactly an abhorrant idea, and most men who would never do so themselves have been in enough discussions with men who would that it's easy for them imagine someone taking it out of the realm of fantasy and actually trying to spy on women in real life.
Add in the cultural idea that having external genitals of the opposite sex in the same locker room will somehow overcome all self-control and cause men to commit rape or sexual assault (eg be seen as an excuse for it) and you have a lot of people who would reject the option of anyone pre-op being allowed to share facilities with those born into their gender.

I have long considered this a supremely offensive notion in so many ways. That it is a large part of the mindset that makes it possible to blame victims for being sexually assaulted does not precisely further endear it to me.

I really like this theory. It may even make sense in that the whales are actually incapable of feeding in an oversaturated area -- the food is simply too 'rich' for them.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Dan's said that he planned for the main arc of EGS to be post high school, back when initially developing the comic. My bet is that we're heading towards a Justice League, Avengers, or Incredibles style superhero team when they hit their college years.

It's also an extension of the "bait and switch" narrative where a heterosexual male becomes attracted to a female but then, after becoming emotionally invested, finds that the object of his attraction has male parts. The revulsion at this notion is thus extended to any hypothetical scenario in which a "woman" turns out to be a "man".

Considering there would be multiple witnesses (that's including those at the mall that saw Tara) saying there were magical griffins. Edward would certainly have a hard time not believing him.
