I believe that there is one God that is beyond the possibility of human comprehension, so we divide that one God into myriad pieces that we can comprehend (about as well as we comprehend each other). No matter which one (or several) you choose to follow, you're partly right but leaving something out. Thus there cannot be "one true faith".

There's a similar saying in medicine, "If you hear hoofbeats, think horses before zebras."  Often phrased as "not zebras" but the fact that horses are far more common does not mean that you'll never encounter a zebra.  In fact, one of my favorite CE lecture titles in recent years was "Horses, Zebras, and Gerenuks."
Another similar 'old saying' which seems to make sense but leads to wrong conclusions is, "Where there's smoke, there's fire."  That makes the assumption that you can tell smoke from steam, dust plumes, evaporating dry ice, and the smoke machine someone set up to try to convince people their opponent's pants are on fire and dustract from their own glowing flames.  ;-)

Looking at Panel Four I must ask, are we certain Susan is not related to Adrian and Pandora?
And there is nothing wrong with making a strong statement of belief, even if it is not appropriate to the situation.

Considering Tedd's reaction to the wand when Edward brought it out to use on Elliot and Ellen. I'd definitely say it was a daily occurance that Noriko used the wand. Also Tedd's explaination to Sarah(includes flashback to first link) had Tedd stating the reaction being a conditioned response from hearing it frequently. That kind of response does not come about from just 6 uses of the wand on him.

Ed Verres has plenty of faults, but he's the parent that stayed with his child.  He doesn't seem the warmest man in the universe, but he does come across as no-nonsense and down to earth.  I can't see him calling a marriage off because the first child was magically impaired or because his wife didn't want more, and I cannot see him kicking Noriko out unless she already wanted to go.  It's not in his character. 
Noriko doesn't have a "character" yet.  We don't know much about her except for a few hurtful things she has done.  It was Norko who kept scanning Tedd for signs of magic ability not Ed Verres, and then she's the one who left.  Certainly Mrs. Kitsune harbors a huge grudge against her sister for how she acted towards Tedd.  Those are the dots we have to connect and they point right at Noriko as the problem, not Ed Verres.

The most obvious issue with this is that she has no reason to assume any other child she would have with Verres would be also powerless. It would make sense to try at least once more. Maybe girl would be better?
More likely, she and Ed Verres had a fight - I mean quarrel, not really battle - and decided their idea about their marriage is not compatible. Tedd likely wasn't only reason, although it probably was one of reasons; Noriko obviously saw him being powerless as bigger problem than Edward.

Yes.  He also goes on to do a lot of other exposition.  He is his father's son...  

Well, it's been a while since I owned cats, but my wife's cat doesn't really have all that sophisticated reading habits. It is basically happy with any kind of newspaper or magazine it can curl comfortably up on and go to sleep on.

We don't know if Akiko knows about real magic at all; she's never been in a scene where Nanase or Ellen used magic, and Nanase has reasons for keeping magic, particularly her magic, secret.
Another point is Akiko probably doesn't know Rhoda, or even about Rhoda. And the same applies the other way. Rhoda could just walk away from some random kid. Right? End of problem.
Well, Akiko would probably tell Nanase later... And Akiko might follow the magical lady to see if anything else happens and ask more awkward questions, and maybe catch Catalina talking or even see Tiny Catalina...
Also, it might be good to remember that Akiko comes from the same bloodline that produced Nanase and Noriko. That may mean she already has at least a feeling for magic. And if Akiko can't use any magic yet, it's also good to remember that Pandora is watching all this happening. Mark this down.

I think Jerry isn't trying to avoid stuff to simply avoid stuff but wasn't entirely convinced he could convince himself that considering he assumed something before but his intuition is backing his assumption now at the very least.
Personally I kinda want Jerry to be right for a number of reasons including the fact that despite his personality quirks he seems to be a truly decent decent immortal.

Actually, the thought just occurred to me, that while there is something he thinks is important about Diane and Susan, he might have just pulled a Pandora as went "If I believe letting this run it's course isn't breaking my vow, then I'm not breaking my vow". Panel 5 looks like Jerry was expecting his old self to shout at him that "I VOWED!", but that didn't happen.
 
I think Jerry just knows that everybody hurts, sometimes.
But he just wants to see shiny happy people.
 

So Jerry has said too much, but he hasn't said enough.
Is he losing his religion?  Or is he just R.E.M. Sleep deprived?

They aren't. However, they are that cheap.

Adrian describes Agent Wolf as "one of the most powerful wizards in the Midwestern United States."  Agent Cranium could well be another of the most powerful wizards.  She could even be more powerful than Wolf.

If the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) can follow the movements of "Something" under the guise of tracking Santa, then using a Turkey helpline to cover up sensitive communications under a huge volume of kitchen advice calls makes sense.

Whenever I see 'tank top', I keep thinking of tank turrets. It makes me envision girls and women wearing the turret of an Abrams tank complete with cannon.
I guess it could reduce catcalling if the catcaller had to live in fear of getting hit with APERS ammunition once the victim got tired of him.
