What a coincidence! We are having this discussion in that same era. When dealing with hand grenades, requirement for accuracy loosens up a bit. As the saying goes, "Almost don't count, except for horse shoes and hand grenades."

Back when Arthur was making Kevin (probably 1970s-80s), the legal ages for drinking and smoking were still 18 in many states rather than 21. Ashley is 18, so therefore old enough that she might be doing those things according to that standard. Do note that Ashley’s friend Liz is a smoker.

On the other hand, I am currently being investigated by the Gazpacho Police. They suspect me of being a Progresso.

Yeah, she often sits and naps on The Box, which isn't in my way. Or sleeps on the bed while I'm out of it. Of course while I'm in the bed she frequently is in the way if I'm trying to read.

Unfortunately, IQ, literacy, & similar tests are traditionally designed not to keep out the stupid, but people who disagree with those in power. And there will always be someone in power who finds people like that useful

Just got back from the spine surgeon's office. He said the EMG test pinpointed a pinched nerve on my left side at C6/C7. This, in combination with my MRI and my reported pain, was reason enough to operate. He's going to do an Anterior Cervical Decompression Fusion on C4/C5, C5/C6, and C6/C7. Basically, he'll be removing my discs and replacing them with metal & bone grafts. This will all be done through an incision on the front side of my neck. No date is scheduled for this yet. I've just finished going through the hell of setting up a pre-op neck X-ray for tomorrow. After that comes a few pre-op clearances, then a pre-op appointment, then lord knows what else. Recovery is going to take a while as well. I'm going to be inpatient for a couple of nights, then home with a cervical collar for 6 weeks, then doing physical therapy for 6 weeks. Much fun. All of this for a predicted 50% pain reduction. Oh well - it's better than nothing.
