See, this is why I think there's a misunderstanding somewhere, because that line is just a rewording of what I said. "Simple maneuvers"= "keeping height, course and stuff" I'm not saying it's like a brick on the accelerator and such, if we switch back to using humans, there's a phrase "living life on autopilot" which basically means going about your day doing tasks, eat, work, sleep, bathroom. Yes, each task may not be simple, but it's so routine that you don't even think about how it's done, you just do it. This is the one I'm getting at, the spell may have a number of options, but if you don't think about those options, it just defaults to something, but when you start thinking about face, colour, and/or clothes, autopilot comes off and you're in control. Maybe we can call this one Semi-Autopilot? As a couple examples would be when Elliot changed from Cheerleadra to Mild Mannered the first time, he may not have realized it at the time but his questioning how he'd be able to get back to Tedd's without people knowing who he is, is what triggered the secret ID part of the spell, also when he was changing to Cheerleadra in front of everyone in the parking lot, he happened to think about the Uryuom suit and it affected how he ended up looking. Elliot wasn't actively wanting to change, but his thought processes and subconscious ended up doing the work for him. We can also use that to describe when Elliot tries to actively change to much of his form, when he was at Susan's about to do their first video review, he transformed to make sure it didn't happen in the middle of recording, and ended up taller than intended, he was trying to stay the same height in female form as he is when male but the brick got dropped there. You could also say that Ashley's sabotage "big boobs?" was another brick. Though Elliot just be a bad example as someone who doesn't have discipline in morphing yet. Here's a better look at Elliot!Sarah and Sarah, last panel shows Elliot!Sarah with longer hair than Sarah, it's still blonde though so it suggest that at least the body should be Sarah's as well just FV5'd.

It wasn't just the guardian form that exhausted her, it was a combination of summoning Fox, 2 hairstyle changes, 13 fairy dolls (12 of which Abraham destroyed, Charlotte ended up with the one intended for Grace), plus the fae punches. We don't know how long she was out, she might have been hooked up to an IV when she got put in the ambulance then left on it until the doctors assessed her and then taken off the IV when found she'd be fine. the room they were in was probably just a recovery room.

I'm honestly not sure autopilot translates the same for you as it does me. If we take it in terms of how it works for an airplane, autopilot literally is meant for simple maneuvers, everything's all clear? Just relax and let the base programming do the job until something requires your focus. Spells with default effects are the same thing, no real concentration required, just activate the base spell and get what the main description of the spell says. Any other stuff about the spell in terms of appearance, size, other, if there's customization involved, then it requires more concentration. Elliot didn't think about Sarah's body when he transformed into her that one time, so it defaulted to an FV5 version of Sarah because his basic female morph is FV5 Elliot or Ellen form.

Autopilot, at least in terms of what I think it would mean, would be the default spell effect, in which case Elliot does have one, if he doesn't try to change any features when using his female form, it results in him looking like Ellen, he did that when he escaped from the ropes in the Nest, and it happened on it's own while he was sleeping when his energy buildups started. Nanase's fairy avatar is similar, the default fairy wears a pink bodysuit, but she can picture other simple outfits to wear. Rhoda's size spell could either encompass the target and shrink the person and what they're wearing, and that pinup would suggest that Rhoda needed to concentrate on not affecting clothing, or it could initially only affect the person and then Rhoda would need to concentrate on the clothing. Which would be more amusing as the default?

Well Rhoda did say she learned that there's a side effect of food being grown (and presumably also shrunk) causing the eater to be affected as well, there may be a chance that she was able to shrink herself back to normal, though yes there is also a chance she waited for the spell to wear off but I'd think she would have at least tried to fix it herself. He said "since" meaning after the boar.

Well even Elliot has some difficulty with getting his morphs right, we know that if he just focuses on a couple features, the rest defaults to standard, and also if someone happens to say something and even when he starts thinking of something when he's in the process it could produce interesting results.

Well, there is a pinup of Rhoda shrinking Catalina out of her clothes so maybe not, though it might be that Rhoda would have to concentrate on both the person and their clothes when she shrink or grows them, like with Tedd's size change watches.

While it would be interesting to see if Liz gets involved in the hijinks, I think the more people that get involved would increase the chances of the hijinks getting public attention. Although, maybe Liz's spell isn't such that it would make people go "Oooh magic!" and probably something that Liz doesn't realize she did it (like Rhoda with the boar) but it distracts people from noticing Rhoda and Catalina.

I'm thinking Rhoda told Catalina about it fairly recently, or maybe it was an accidental thing during another date. Catalina's question and Rhoda's response feels similar to Elliot and Ashley talking about Elliot's girl form....and Catalina and Rhoda seem to be going to the book store...interesting, does Rhoda know all the security blind spots as well?

I wonder if there's a spell that could copy spells from one spell book to another. Probably rare or with a high energy cost though.

Nanase and Ellen had agreed to not act on it because they didn't know for sure if Susan was adopted or not and if she was, just turning 18 would mean her mom would likely tell her soon. The spider vampire attack and the possibility of more vampires coming to Moperville spooked Nanase into acting because she was afraid of something happening to Diane before Susan had a chance to know she had a sister. This has of course changed, but not by much, Susan isn't adopted so there's no fear of hurting her relationship with her mom, her relationship with her dad is already damaged pretty badly so it can't get much worse, Diane's already realized that she may be Susan's sister and has already told Nanase that she's aware of it.

Edward met Diane New Years. He's seen her face, heard her voice, maybe he hasn't been around Susan enough to notice the similarities, Nanase and Justin didn't notice until Ellen pointed it out but still he had known about her for a couple weeks.

It hasn't been fully explained how wizards learn spells, Tedd said it could be just a matter of seeing the spell in action, but may not be that simple. Wolf may be one of the most powerful wizards in the midwestern US, but I don't think one look at Elliot turning into Cheerleadra would instantly let him do it.

The problem with Ellen doing it is she'd be missing from class during that time, and it's possible as some people suggested in the other thread, that witnesses could have misheard "Ellen Dunkel". Or there's a very off chance that someone might figure out that Ellen is Elliot's duplicate.

Oh yeah! Principle Verruckt and several MNHS staff knew about Elliot being a girl back in the first Sister arc, hearing Elliot's name in association with a pink haired girl and Cheerleadra isn't going to be a surprise to them. There are some that argue that sex education increases the likelihood of teenagers trying it at a younger age. Then again, our premier designed the curriculum to include some hardcore stuff, she's not very popular right now...

I'm inclined to think that whatever happens doesn't generate a lot of attention. The title for this portion of the story is "Escape from the Mall" which suggests that Catalina and Rhoda are forced to get out of the mall without anyone noticing. Maybe Catalina turns into half cat and unable to say anything except "meow", so Rhoda shrinks Catalina the size of a regular cat and carries her inside her jacket.

I would find it very amusing, if Elliot pressed the matter and asked if there was anything that could be done in case some people did make a connection, and Edward suggests the same plan that Justin did. Elliot: "Well since you suggest that, Susan can't object now" Edward specifically said no fooling around because he was worried about Tedd getting Grace pregnant, but then he mentioned the fact that Grace couldn't get pregnant in half squirrel form and then Tedd couldn't stop smiling. So I think Edward's given up on that by now. Back on the subject of Elliot though, I thought Edward knew that Carol was Sarah's sister, I would think that even if the majority of witnesses assumed that a pink haired girl can be named Elliot, Carol would more likely be thinking "That's the name of Sarah's friend." and start digging around for more.
