It's also an extension of the "bait and switch" narrative where a heterosexual male becomes attracted to a female but then, after becoming emotionally invested, finds that the object of his attraction has male parts. The revulsion at this notion is thus extended to any hypothetical scenario in which a "woman" turns out to be a "man".

It is hilarious (read: creepy and disconcerting) how this narrative tends to be propagated by men who clearly give the impression that they think it would be a really cool idea if they could get away with it.

Unfortunately for trans and intersexed people, recognition of their rights to be regarded as the sex that they perceive themselves as rather than the sex that others perceive them as are lagging decades behind recognition of homosexual rights. There's still the narrative going around that some men will choose to impersonate women for malicious purposes.

Primary Protagonist Syndrome: the story is interested in you. It's an aggravated form of the more common Protagonist Syndrome, where it never occurs to you to call the relevant authorities and then go hide while they deal with the problem (and you may even actively go hunting for the story).
Both forms are also known as Player-Character Syndrome and Main Character Syndrome. However these terms also have other, only vaguely related, meanings.

And by the standards of most societies before college became an expected thing for middle-class people (as recent as WWII!!!), 18 is full adulthood. Remember, even today an 18 year old is considered old enough to serve in a nation's military and go out and fight to the death at their government's behest.

I think that the two "halves" are really co-equal, and the naming of their own half as the "first" one is simple cultural provincialism--neither is actually "first" or "second" except for the order in which a given society discovered them, sort of like how the "New World" was always here even though the people of the "Old World" didn't know about it.

So there won't be a Monferno/Infernape--it'll be an Empoleon instead.

In other words, the only ones who treated her like a little girl instead of as an experiment were the ones who were more or less literally her parents.

I'm thinking spidervamp's been that way for longer than Andrea's been in this half of the world, but yeah the vampire in France was more human looking, I mentioned before that it could be possible that the forms aberrations when they turn are chosen by them, the spidervamp could have been obsessed with arachnids and the France vampire would have taken a traditional vampire stance. Whether they can change into a more normal form to blend in with crowds and such remains to be seen though. But I'm leaning towards no, once they've changed, they need to keep a very low profile out of sight from the regular populace.
Interestingly enough the is the second vampire that's made the mistake of not being aware of anyone that might get in the way of a meal, the France vampire didn't account for the possibility of Nanase noticing Susan being lured away and coming to her aid, as well as he underestimated how strong she was even without magic at the time. And then the spidervamp, who supposedly may have been in the area for a while, didn't know about Andrea being in that area too, she's not supposed to be the stealthy one and yet she was able to blindside him.

I think this page confirms Ashley not only is a good fit for the main cast, she might one of the more intelligent members of them.
Diane seeking answers about the Spider Vampire questions makes me suspect some options about what Dan has planned to happen by next weekend, Moperville time. Susan and Diane will likely end up meeting. I have a few ideas on who might insist on the meeting narratively speaking but no guess on who actually will.

More so on engineering a rocket.
I blame aerodynamics. And the human imagination.
