Certainly. I imagine if it would be difficult to determine if the energy of magic would count as one massive whole, or countless separate pieces working in concert.

It could also be a sort of superorganism, like an ant colony, with countless fragments working together, yet a consensus is reached between the fragments without actually having any sort of debate or leadership among them. Not as single-minded as a Borg Collective, but united in purpose.

Last time Elliot made that mistake about Tedd being a guy or a girl he got zapped in to FV5, which is why, I suspect he looks a little freaked out in panel 3.
And, yeah, Tedd should tell his dad, who does know about immortals and will most likely believe Tedd.

Tedd's reason for this choice is inarguable - in both relational terms (his actual spur to the choice) and pragmatic terms (ID cards, school enrollment...)
Whether it's the best choice is, nonetheless, unclear.
Frankly, as genderfluid as Tedd appears to be, I'm not convinced that there is a "better" choice on anything other than pragmatic and relational grounds. And the pragmatic issues would be temporary.

Ah Dan, you old rascal you.  You just love throwing another log on the roaring fire of Fan Shipping.  Now we know that nothing will break Tedd and Grace up and we already have the One True Triad with Sarah.  And true, there have always been the stalwart ones, who have help out hope for a Tedd Elliot pairing, but now... Starship TessElliot has roared out of the spaceport.
Honestly though, is there some kind of diagramming language/symbology for Transgender Polyamorous Shipping?  I'm sure we can chart the whole cast into some kind of linked whole based purely on who has blushed at who in canon comics.

If the monologue in the commentary is certainly Tedd's train of thought, then it does confirm what I feel is what's causing the rift between her and Edward. All the excuses made for why Tedd transforms herself into a girl and such has made Edward think it's some side effect of using the TFG or that Tedd has some sort of kink about it, but that was all before Tedd realized the actual reason why she does it. Now she just needs to buckle down and tell him the truth.

If Ashley sees Elliot together with girl-Tedd, her first question may be to ask just how common it is for boys to get magic to turn into girls.

Ok, that's it.  Elliot is the best friend, no argument is possible.  (this is what got me to finally make an account, I've been lurking for a few months.)

And suddenly certain things click, like one reason I like Elliot so much.  In him, I see a small reflection of my son.
 
A story, by way of explanation:
My son is 19.  Lives with me now, but when he was living with his mom, there was a girl he dated towards the end of middle school.  That ended when her folks moved her to another school precisely because they (being pretentious religious jackasses) didn't approve of him.
High school comes along and he finds himself back in the same school as her.  By this time, she's started to try to sort out identity issues and has a fairly serious girlfriend.  To my son, this is no big deal; the only part that weirds him out at all is that he is the one his ex comes to for relationship advice, and being a friend he listens.  I got the impression he may have been one of a very few who did that.
Advance a couple of years.  My son's ex is still with the same girlfriend (partly due to having my son as a good listener), but has realized that he (here's where I'm changing pronouns) is trans.  Again, my son doesn't bat an eyelash; he just goes on supporting his friend.  
So the last panel on today's comic  -- that hits home in an unexpected way.  A good way.
