Elliot, in this form, can fly.  No phone is needed to play with birds.  And it shouldn't take too much effort to make those birds angry.

I note that on no occasion has either griffin said anything about their world's human nobility in general, or about magic among humans in general. Just that the royal family is a strongly magical bloodline, and that Nanase's magic is strong enough it's hard to imagine her not being part of that family (which implies that really strongly magical people born outside that family tend to be adopted or married into it).
So maybe magic-users of, oh, Susan's current level are a dime a dozen. This seems likely for the world in general, although not necessarily for humans, considering Tara was able to intimidate an Ancient into temporarily leaving our world - and she's a knight, not a wizard.
As for making the little fairy appear being impressive - in itself somewhat, but the fact of its persistence more so. You see, technically there's nothing theoretically wrong with violating the law of conservation of matter and energy... temporarily. But that violation has to later (and usually not much later) be undone. Ellen's and Elliot's shape-changings get undone. All of Susan's, Dex's, and Abraham's summonings get undone.
Nanase's fairydolls don't get undone, even when cut in half. And creating matter takes a HUGE amount of energy. The energy of the A-bomb explosion at Hiroshima was nowhere near sufficient to create an entire fairydoll.
Flying takes energy too, but vastly less than matter-creation (and far less for a fairydoll than for a human figure or guardian form). That energy could plausibly be tapped from the environment. Or if it is created, its un-creation can be done inconspicuously.
(Oh, and Ashley? Put your phone on speaker... too bad Elliot in his current condition doesn't know how to do the same and possibly can't.)

This entire story line has had me feeling for various characters and/or laughing at how the situation can be like my life at times. In this particular case I live in a nudist household. I am pretty fine with my room mates seeing me in just about any state of dress/undress. But when we all hear a particular boyfriend (Or worse, family) walks through the door *zoom* all of a sudden everyone is dressed.

I don't think she's living rent free anymore, at the very least working at Salty Crackers has allowed her to help out with buying groceries and stuff, and she likely helps keep the house clean.

I think you meant this as a joke but that is pretty much what happens when you often find yourself needing to get dressed in a hurry in your own home.

Does that one also have annoying NPCs with a tendency to wander off and get attacked during Escort Missions? And yes, I was talking about Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Red/Blue Rescue Team.

So, that experiment where I'm trying to play Pokemon Platinum in sync with my binge-watch of the anime:
DP001: I start the game (as a girl named Dawn, naturally), select Piplup as my starter and make it to Sandgem Town by the end.
DP002: I move on to Route 202, start catching Pokemon and level grinding. Soon after this I find out that it took the characters until DP010 to get to Jubilife City. So I just keep grinding.
DP010: Enter Jubilife City, get the Poketch, and then go back to grinding on Route 202. If the game a Contest Hall in Jubilfe, I would have done a few to correspond to DP011 and 12.
DP013: I finally move on to Route 203, do a few battles, and I manage to evolve Starly with perfect timing.
DP015: I enter Oreburgh City, go to the mine.
DP016: I battle Roark and win. Since it took Ash another two episodes to beat him, I go back to catching and grinding.
DP019: Since the episode is entirely about Dawn catching Pachirisu, I decided to break the (self-imposed) rules a little, run as fast as I could to Route 205 and catch one as well. Succeeded with perfect timing. Heading back to Route 204 next.

Honestly, I'm not nearly as worried about Tedd's watch-making glove than I am about his gauntlet he made to store magical energy and then give it all back to him at once.
Still, I guess it'll be interesting to find out if either of those things have anything to do with his "dangerous rarity"... We really need a proper word for him. I don't like him calling himself a mutant, and we know he is most definitely not a wizard.
Edit: What the heck?! I clicked Scotty's gauntlet link, and I'm 100% sure that there used to be more to that comic than there is now. Did Dan cut out that page's last three panels for some reason? When did that happen? I read through the entire archive only a few weeks ago and those panels were still there back then.

It's on my shopping list, because I don't have enough unfinished DS/3DS Games. Is it less frustrating than the original Mystery Dungeon?

Just started a replay of Pokemon Platinum, synced with the anime as much as I can.

Then Sarah's reaction to being thought of as a sister would make no sense. The only reason she'd react that way is after Elliot had told her he thought of her as a sister when they broke up.

*Bites lip*. Tedd's eyes still freak me out.
It is not the commentary that feels wrong; it is the huge whale-sized plot hole.

I can see GPS function being able to give Elliot better sense of direction, he wouldn't have had any issue flying to the bell tower. Looking at a qr code would scan it and he'd see the information from it, probably better than Tedd can "see" magic. Texting someone might just involve thinking about what he'd say and focusing on what phone number to send it to.

Panel 1: Avatar State! Yip yip! Also, griffon fangirls for the win.
Panel 3: Humans where she's from? ...hey, maybe she's from Magus's home universe. There's a theory.
Panel 4-5: "And thirdly... The laws of physics is more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules."
Panel 7: It's okay, Ashley. You're allowed to geek out. Get it out of your system now before it becomes routine.
Commentary: I think we've all had a moment where we've used the wrong word and hoped nobody in the constipation noticed.

Given that Tara is a knight and their persistent mention of royalty I am starting to suspect that their half of the world (Darn you, Dan, EXPLAIN THAT!) is a monarchy with a feudal system of some sort. Possibly a vestigial one with some sort of civil representation. Moreover, I find the reactions of the griffins rather interesting. I have this feeling that they still have Nanase placed in the slot marked 'royalty' in their worldview and that they go along with not calling her 'princess' mostly as polite acceptance of royal caprice. ("Uh, of course, your Majest -- I mean, your Elizabethness -- I mean Elizabeth!")

He seems to transition personalities pretty quickly though, so I don't really think that bleed through is a real danger. The wrinkle is that each personality, though, might not want to switch. Lust-for-life Heidi may not want to turn into stick-in-the-mud Elliot. Though I don't think they're so much separate personalities but different facets of Elliot's core personality, with different traits emphasized or diminished as needed.

I suspect, but have no proof, that each alternate identity counts as a separate person.  My only reason is that it makes sense since these are supposed to be secret identities - their whole purpose is to disguise him.
If he ever wanted to hide from a magic user this ability could be handy.  I wonder though...if he spent too much time as, say, Heidi, would that personality start to become dominant?

Without any equipment, we were trying to lower an old upright piano on casters about four feet from the stage to the house floor.  The suggestions for how we should proceed just kept getting wilder.  And we could not risk damaging the instrument.

Finally, some kid pointed out that the stage door opened directly to an alley with no steps.  The alley sloped to the sidewalk with no steps.  The theatre lobby door opened to the sidewalk with no steps.  There were no steps from the lobby into the house.  And the aisle in the house from the lobby door to the stage had no steps.
I think my expression was very similar to that of Nanase in the last panel.
