Arcanimus got a reaction from mlooney in Things That Are Just Annoying
I'm getting sleep, and plenty of it. However, it feels like all I'm doing is getting more and more tired. I might just be dehydrated, as its upwards of 90 degrees in my room at any given time, and I seem to have sprung a sweat leak like a burst water main.
You'd get a cease and desist order in the mail for attempting to re-brand Apple products.

On a related note, I'm putting good odds on Ashley finding out about Ellen's origin if Magus is indeed involved.

No, that's a pile of red herring with a wig.

I was going to copy the book but Dan's art has improved a LOT and it just looked weird. The book looked weird. Susan's expression is perfect.

Considering all the ancient stories of people from the sky visiting Earth, I wouldn't be surprised if Uryuoms had been in contact with us for millennia.
Heck, maybe the great flood and Noah's Ark story did happen, and Uryuoms were there to help the survivors.

My own headcanon is that Greg's experience (girl leaving him, binge-watching animae for 3 days before It All Hit Him) adds up to a Minor Angst-induced Awakeneing and ASMA was the result.
I'm still not quite sure how to classify the ASMA moves Elliot, Nanase and Justin were all able to learn and do without being awakened. I'm tempted to sweep them under a rug labelled "cantrips" (defined as non-Mark spells that that unawakened can learn and use).
Tedd's watches would be cantrips embedded in a physical device. "Cannedtrips" if you will...

Thomas went to school wearing his Adorable Pink Frilly Parka that was a gift from his late cousin Amelia.
She acquired a quite unusual Taste in fashion. She had neon streaked hair, and many chains hanging on her neck. But Despite her excessive muscle growth, she's entirely harmless and she gladly hugs almost anyone.
A long time has passed since Amelia died in a prank gone Wrong. Apparently Fireworks were installed with faulty launchers, making it rain explosions. Nowadays, she haunts a very large part of town. Paranormal investigators love to try to cajole information from people who knew Amelia years ago.
At school, Thomas has problems with solving a problem involving other problems. His teachers hate his habit of nesting problems within convoluted webs of letters and numbers to process the streams of data from the latest Paraguayan economic indicators.
What that even had decided be relevant, was questionable on the grounds of various things that are related to absolutiely nothing.
"What are you even doing with those gigantic orange binders?" asked the floating magical girl hovering upsidedown behind The unlucky teacher.
Jumping a good five meters, the former astronaut replied, "Who are you, and how did you become inverted in time?"
"I am Sunny Jim."
To paraphrase McCoy, "I'm a Doctor, not The Doctor."
Looking far into the interstitial chronosphere for an apple fleeing from several poorly aligned sandwiches in pursuit of the lonely astronaut.
A sudden burst of loud music shook the heavens and shattered walls for miles. Mr John Foster Dulles Pinkerton flew to the Moon, only to realize that the invasion had already begun during the SxSW Conference several decades ago.

A grand resurgence took place in my intestinal tract as many bacteria as there were stars in the recently ruptured appendix as a result of over consumption. suddenly developed sentience and began moving to Detroit. There wasn't much there. Or so it seems to Detective Baconbits Von Neuman Vandertramp III, and it soon became quite a pickle.
The pickle leaped into the ominous star filled void. A vacuum cleaner removed evidence of

Also, being willing to admit that your own judgement is not flawless is a good thing--those who think themselves perfect allow themselves no room for improvement.

You do what you can to take it easy Hack, but don't think this makes you unfit to be a moderator, if anything this just a reminder that you aren't an emotionless robot and you're not immune to stress.
In the time that I've been in these forums, I've seen you do your best to keep things civil and friendly. Allowing us to be able to say when we think something's not right is not only a sign of a good moderator, but a good person in general and I believe that's what makes this a good community.

Oh dear, EGS reads like a slice of life magical teens story and not a Rob Liefeld comic! What shall we do.
Wait a minute. If I actually felt this was a problem, I would be reading Rob Liefeld instead.

"We aren't up w......." is what I thought, though "we fill'r up while you wait" might make more sense. There's a good chance that that guess is accurate, and if so, in the words of Strider:
DAVE: thats a hell of a mystery no one thought was a mystery and didnt even really need solving
DAVE: but damn if it didnt just get solved so nice work

I think this is Ellen trying, once again, to differentiate herself from Elliot. By deliberately not going to the dojo she establishes another difference in their behavior patterns. It might be reaching a bit, but given how desperate she was to not just be female Elliot locked out of her old life, it is rather understandable to me.

Even if her mom is her birth mom, it's still an awfully important secret to keep from Susan, that she has a sister, a twin, and for some reason they not only separated them, but never told either of them about the other! They stole an incredibly important relationship from her, years and closeness which can never be reclaimed, and I have a very difficult time coming up with any sort of adequate justification for doing that to both of them. Her mom would have been lying to her her whole life. That sort of revelation irrevocably damages a relationship, and she'll never look at her mom the same way again.
(By the way, folks, let's be careful about using terms like "real mom" in our discussions. If you have to make a distinction, use "birth mother" and "adoptive mother" or something else descriptive rather than judgemental. We try hard to use the right terminology in regards to gender, sexuality, and identity; we should show the same sensitivity and accuracy here.)

Noah's age wouldn't necessarily be a limiting factor. We don't know the how long an egg takes to mature and hatch. Given that we don't know Noah's birthdate, (and according to the wiki he's a year younger than Tedd) it's still a possibility. Also consider that its possible that a "dominant" donor may contribute more to the mix in the egg, as appears to be the case with Grace, Hedge, and Guineas, all of whom appear to take many (if not most) of their traits from their human donors.
After some thinking, and embarrasingly remembering that Susan's natural hair color is Blonde, I think its far less likely that Susan and Diane are related to Noriko, and more likely that they are related to Noah. After all, we do have evidence of Noah conjuring magical weapons.

Grace's inability to use Earthly magic may also be tied into her Lespuko genes, which enhance her shapeshifting and telekinetic ability.

Arcanimus reacted to The Old Hack in The most fantastic game of Magic I've ever played
It may come as a stunning surprise to people here that my absolutely favourite card in my collection was Magical Hack. It never failed to produce hilarious results.
One time in a multiplayer game one of my opponents played a very annoying red-black deck. One of the other players got tired of that and played Drought, which requires everybody playing who wants to generate black mana to sacrifice a swamp for each black mana they get. At this point I intervened and played my Hack on the Drought and said, "Ah, no. You have to sacrifice a plains for each black mana you get." The guy with the black-red deck looked aghast and said, "But I don't have any plains in my deck." I replied, "Then you may have a problem."
Needless to say, with one of his colours taken entirely out of play, he did not do well in the rest of the game.
