*hugs* I'm very sorry you're having such a tough time right now. I hope knowing you have friends and support here helps, and I just wish there were more I could do!

Uh oh....that doesn't sound good. I sincerely hope your misgivings are misplaced, and/or that the arbitrator/judge/other authority sees it your way quickly.

The "vampires are for real" line... SPLENDID trolling of the vampire. At least I think Volty woulda made sure he knew they were.

Would that be the power to chicken out when confronted with an angry griffin?

Immortal precognition can't be "true" seeing of future events, because that would be equivalent to information traveling backwards in time, which is forbidden in EGS. I think it's more like "ultra-accurate weather forecasting"--as Immortals grow more powerful and perceptive, they can integrate finer and finer details until they develop a Sherlock Holmes-like ability to get a whole picture from just a few obscure-seeming clues. At Pandora's level, she can probably also "see the threads of fate"--i.e. fully construct entire alternate scenarios based on options A, B, C, etc., and determine their approximate probability of coming to pass.

Abner, possibly Susan's (biological) dad? The two look really similar. And for the people saying that he looks more like Raven, remember this?

Why else would Sirleck suddenly change his mind about not helping Magus if not to take advantage of turning a powerful wizard into a new host? possessing Magus ≠ possessing Elliot. Magus is appealing not because he has magic, as that would have drawn Sirleck's attention much earlier in the conversation, Magus is appealing because nobody knows him; Sirleck didn't show an interest until after Magus admitted he was alone, that Sirleck was the only person he knew in this world. Elliot is entirely the opposite of that. he is surrounded by people who know him quite well that could easily dispatch Sirleck. The bodysnatcher likely won't make his move until after Elliot and Magus have parted ways.

Once again, seconded. And I am totally with you as far as politics in TV go. Politics in Denmark are so bollocking embarrassing right now that the only way I know to cope is to pretend that they aren't happening. I swear that someone inserted the line "Government for morons, by morons and of morons" into our Constitution when no-one was looking.

Seconded. Stiff upper lip and all that, Prof. We're behind you here. Take good care of yourself, Mrs. Prof and the cats.

Monty Python, I believe, put it best. Reg: You do a lot of this sort of thing, do you? BBC Man: Quite a lot yes, quite a lot. I'm mainly in comedy. I'd like to be in Programming Planning actually, but unfortunately I've got a degree. http://www.montypython.net/scripts/jokesales.php

I believe that it is a British expression, loosely equivalent to Eric Cartman's "Screw you guys; I'm going home." I have also seen the expression used with other profanity besides "blow" as the initial word.

So, we can settle last weekend's discussion by saying that Voltaire Sanders was the spy, but he is feeding Sirleck information with a human go-between.

How long before a Li'l Abner joke shows up? Or is his appearance already a reference to the black-haired perpetually-19 character?

If Sirleck is considering Elliot, or anyone known to be a close friend of Elliot, as a possible next host, he's a complete idiot. There are several fairly-high-power magic users in there - just among the human teenagers, and Sirleck should be aware of a minimum of one and possibly four or more. At least two of Elliot's friends have family connections - one of them extremely obvious - to DGB and full-blown wizards, There are three Immortals involved that we know Sirleck is aware of. That's a firing squad already assembling itself; stepping in front of it and yelling FIRE! would be Darwin-Award-worthy. So what does Sirleck want with Elliot? To get rid of Magus.
